CLINTON TOWNSHIP -- The driver of a pick up truck in the hit and run crash involving a horse and buggy has been charged.
37-year-old Christopher Cranmer was arraigned on over a dozen charges including aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, accidents involving death or personal injury, driving without a license and failure to notify police.
Cranmer was driving over the speed limit in a black pick up truck when he hit the rear end of an Amish buggy and then drove away.
Neighbors notified state police and told them there was damage to Cranmer's vehicle parked outside of his apartment in Montgomery.
Two adults and five children were hurt in the accident. Two victims were flown to the hospital and are suffering serious injuries.
The horse is expected to survive.
