TUNKHANNOCK TOWNSHIP – Folks learned about amateur radio in Wyoming County on Sunday.

The Endless Mountain Amateur Radio Club held its annual field day event Sunday morning at the emergency operations center near Tunkhannock.

Folks could watch amateur radio operators, also known as hams, in action -- or even learn how to operate their own amateur radio.

Urgh! Always showing the old men with their boat anchors.
How’s about showing young people out and about with handheld and mobile radios?

I’m one of the old men you noticed in the news clip and a member of the Endless Mountains Amateur Radio Club. I’d like to extend an invitation to you to become a member. We are always seeking new members, especially younger ones who can help us old timers learn more about the hobby and how to operate the new handheld and mobile radios. Who knows, you might even learn a thing or two from us, unless of course you already know it all.
