MOUNT CARMEL -- A fire investigator is looking for the cause of a fire that destroyed two homes in Northumberland County.

The fire started around 2 a.m. Tuesday on one side of a double home on Chestnut Street in Mount Carmel.

The flames quickly spread to the connecting home.

One person was home at the time and made it out safely.

Fire officials say they do not believe the fire is suspicious.

Gotta keep a close eye on these fire department nerds. They get erections when theres a fire so I wouldnt be surprised if they’re throwing the match. Firecompanies need a good Sgt in Arms to keep them in line (but not slobber and crotch grab).

Was gonna buy a row home in Atlas. Now having second thoughts. I wanna coach football in the prized coal region. But those houses always catch fire.
