CARBONDALE -- A fire at an apartment building in Lackawanna County has been ruled an arson.

A state police fire marshal says a child was playing with matches just before 8 a.m. Wednesday in the back of the building on Belmont Street in Carbondale.

The fire then spread to a nearby gas can and sofa cushion.

No one was hurt.

Officials haven't said if anyone will face charges.

I don’t believe an eight year old playing with matches is considered arson. Idiot reporting. Brittiany
