CANAAN TOWNSHIP -- Drivers in one part of Wayne County no longer need to worry about a detour.

A bridge on Route 296 south of Waymart reopened Sunday.

PennDOT closed it earlier this month so crews could replace it.

Officials say the new bridge in Wayne County is longer and wider than the old one and is designed to last 100 years.
