STROUDSBURG -- The Poconos are expected to be one of the places hit hardest by Winter Storm Stella.

Move over Blizzard of '93, there is a new storm in town.

The Blizzard of 2017 blanketed the Poconos early Tuesday and, according to our Stormtracker 16 team, some spots could see almost two feet of snow.

"It's pretty bad," said Siamsa restaurant owner Brendan Gilson. "As long as I have been here I haven't seen it this bad and I think it's going to go on for a few more hours."

Main Street in Stroudsburg looked like a ghost town at a time when there is typically bumper-to-bumper traffic and people walking around.

Throughout Monroe County, schools and buildings closed for the day and public transportation buses and Martz buses canceled routes

On the roads, just some plows and a few restaurant owners hoping to open for business.

"Yeah, we are going to open and be open as normal," said Gilson. "The staff that live within walking distance have all said they would come in so it will be a normal day for us."

People who have to haul away this stuff tell us the only problem really is that it is falling too fast. Anytime crews clear a path, it only takes a few minutes to fill back in.

Over in East Stroudsburg, this crew tried their best to clear parking lots, but it was no easy task.

"It's hard. It's hard on everyone but you push through it and it's March so that is one good thing, so it should come and go very quickly," said Melissa Couch, Boscaino's Construction.

"It's one of those storms that aren't all that bad, actually, because people aren't out so we can. We don't have to work around everything, work around vehicles and stores aren't open, obviously, so that really helps what we are doing," said Larry Couch, Boscaino's Construction.

All county offices are closed Tuesday, March 15. They plan to reopen on Wednesday.

Martz buses are not running into New York or Philadelphia on Tuesday because of the weather.

Local transportation, Pocono Pony, is not running on Tuesday as well.

Governor Tom Wolf is urging drivers to avoid unnecessary travel Tuesday.

If you do need to travel, there are speed restrictions.
