A federal judge granted an emergency stay Saturday night for citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries who have already arrived in the US and those who are in transit, and who hold valid visas, ruling they can legally enter the US.

The decision halts part of President Donald Trump’s executive order, which barred citizens from those countries from entering the US for the next 90 days.

President Trump’s seismic move to ban more than 130 million people from the United States and to deny entry to all refugees reverberated worldwide Saturday, as chaos and confusion rippled through US law enforcement agencies, airports and foreign capitals trying to grasp the US’s new policy.

Trump’s executive order bars citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US for the next 90 days and suspends the admission of all refugees for 120 days.

Travelers who fit the ban’s criteria and were already in the air headed for the US on Friday afternoon when Trump signed the executive order were stopped and detained upon arrival at US airports. Others with valid visas and airline tickets were prevented from boarding planes destined for the US — some stranded in foreign countries — as airlines and foreign airport officials scrambled to understand and comply with the new US immigration policy.

But Saturday night, a federal judge granted an emergency stay for people who have already arrived in the United States and those who are in transit, and who hold valid visas, ruling they can legally enter the country.

Before editing legitimate comments, WNEP should edit their own stories for grammer and readability, and try to exceed a third grade writing level.

Gimmeabreak , it doesnt matter reasons what Jimmy Carter banned for…

It’s not a muslim ban as media and people claim it..the only thing Trump is doing is exercising his right as President to use The following US Code which was not created yesterday. It was ,
Passed by a Democratic House And Senate And signed by a Democratic President in 1952

Under U.S. Code, the president does have the statutory authority to keep anyone out of the country, for any reason he thinks best. Per 8 USC §1182

“Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

Carter Exercised his right to ban Iranians and deport them.
Obama exercised his right to ban Iraqis as well.

Trump exercises his right to do it and everyone calling it unconstitional, racist or religeous persecution.

Heres something else that people seem to forget..there was a
” Secure Fence Act ” signed way back in 2006 ….long before Trump ever mentioned a wall…

Joint press release from the Border Patrol and ICE councils:
“As representatives of the nation’s Frontline immigration officers and agents responsible for enforcing our laws and protecting our borders, we fully support and appreciate President Trump’s swift and decisive action to keep the American people safe and allow law enforcement to do its job.”

The people we’re trying to avoid getting here are the likes of which that throw men who like other men off buildings, force women to do obscene and immoral things, burn people alive, or remove their heads with a knife that they don’t like, that sort of thing. That their fellow citizens are delayed in coming here because we want to sort them out so it doesn’t happen here so often isn’t a form of hatred or bigotry, it’s common sense.

The Department of Homeland Security is defying the court order. They said the safety of Americans comes first.

Some judge in Brooklyn dictates foreign policy to our President, gives higher rights to non citizens over citizens. This is why the federal system of appointing judges stinks. The pro illegal immigration group knew exactly where to file suit. Judges should not be super legislators or be able to do what this judge did.

It’s kinda like throwing a weasel in a hen house. This is something the media is good at. We are talking about a FEW individuals and families with an over statement of their CHRISTIAN backgrounds to gain attention and everyone is going crazy in protest. Nothing was said and no one responded when we were told that ONE HUNDRED PLUS MILLION people would be brought here with no knowledge of their background and no one even said where they were going to go. And where did the protesters come from? How did they do that? Long before most people even knew that this was happening airports turned into a quagmire of yelling, sign waving lunatics. Does the left keep prepositioned protesters with buses running, signs made and at the ready just waiting for the next possible news breaking event? Has anyone recently tried to get in or out of JFK without extreme difficulty and don’t even think about trying to get to the Philadelphia airport if you’re not driving your own car and paying through the nose to park it somewhere. These protests were there almost instantly. You’ve got some ‘splaining to do, Lucy!

You have to love the photos of Trump that WNEP chooses to use for their stories. During the whole election process, every picture of him, he was made to look like an idiot.
Now on this post, he’s made to look sinister.

Why not make him look like he is? The man!
Put some decent pictures up there of him.
Hillary already lost! It’s time to stop beating your dead horse.
The people that you’re trying to smear Trump to, already hate him and the other people that you’re trying to smear Trump to are never going to believe you anyways.

Turn the Channel!!!!!! You only want to hear what works with your mind. May I suggest FOX might be more towards your impaired thought process.

Casey and Wolf, the raving moonbats, were even “protesting” at the Philly airport. LOLOLOLOL!!! The sound of liberals’ heads’ exploding in the morning! It sounds like victory!

I do agree that people coming from any country should have to be vetted thoroughly and should be made to go through an extensive background check. I do not agree banning a whole group of people because of a small percentage of thugs. I don’t know too many true natives from America. America is a symbol for freedom of religion, freedom of speech and protecting human rights. Let’s keep the thugs out but protect what the Statue of Liberty stands for, otherwise what has made us so great will be lost because we are scared of these thugs. We have become very soft to be scared into not standing up for what our country is supposed to represent. Many Americans fought and died for these ideals and their sacrifice should not be for nothing.

President Carter booted the Iranians out of America when the ‘hostage crisis’ began. Precedent set! Thanks, Jimmah.

      • Givemeabreak

He banned them because they had American hostages. Not the same thing and according to the right wasn’t Jimmy C the worst President ever? I guess he is only the worst when it is convenient for your argument. Apple’s and oranges.

This was a good move, those already approved visas should be allowed to enter. The immediate suspension of them was an overreach. I voted Trump, but that does not mean I will approve what I consider overreach.
