HAZLETON -- Families in need enjoyed a warm meal in Hazleton on Sunday.

The annual Thanksmas meal was served up at Hazleton One Community Center by Hazleton native and Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon and other volunteers.

The menu included ziti with meatballs, sausage, pierogis, chicken, and more.

Those who came out were thankful that Maddon came through for his hometown again.

"It's so rewarding for all the people in town to know you have something to go to, and this is all Joe Maddon's doing, so he cares for his hometown," said Lillian Osifat of Tresco.

They expected to serve about 300 people.
