PITTSTON -- A random act of kindness is helping people stay warm during this chilly season in Luzerne County.
Members of the girls basketball team at Pittston Area High School tied scarves and hats to about 20 poles and trees around the city.
With the weather turning colder, the scarves and hats are free for anyone to use.
Each has a handwritten note attached that says to take it to keep warm.
The team members say this is the first year for this act of kindness.
