Luzerne County Budget Passes Without Vehicle Registration Fee

WILKES-BARRE -- Residents in Luzerne County will not have to pay an additional $5 vehicle registration fee next year.

The county manager tells Newswatch 16 council approved a budget for 2017 Tuesday night.

The proposed budget had included that extra charge to help pay for roads and bridges, but the county manager said the registration fee was removed from the budget before it was passed.

The budget did, however, include a 4 percent tax hike.
