COVINGTON TOWNSHIP -- Police say slick roads are to blame after a tanker truck crashed in Lackawanna County Monday morning.

The tanker slid off the road around 8 a.m. on Route 435 near Gouldsboro.

The driver was taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK.

DEP says 200 gallons of home heating oil spilled on the ground. Investigators said it did not get into a creek or waterway.

A contractor hired by trucking company cleaned up the spill, removed about 25 tons of soil and snow to be safe.

There is no word if the trucking company will be cited.
