PLAINS TOWNSHIP -- Students from nine area career and technology centers competed against each other in Luzerne County.
Wilkes-Barre Area CTC hosted the Skills USA Competition on Wednesday.
The students came from area career and technology centers, including in Wilkes-Barre, as well as Lackawanna, Carbon, and Susquehanna Counties and beyond.
It was a chance for kids to show off their woodworking and masonry skills.
"These teams have been preparing for about a month and a half, two months for today. They take a lot of pride in their work and they want to beat their fellow peers," said Bob Bertoni, skills advisor.
Skills USA is a national organization preparing students for careers in technical, skilled, and service occupations.
