EAST STROUDSBURG -- Some children in Monroe County were able to tell Santa everything on their Christmas wish lists Tuesday morning, thanks to students from East Stroudsburg University.

It was a room full of smiling faces, as preschoolers at the Monroe County Head Start were able to see the big man in red.

The holiday party was presented by the student-athlete advisory committee at East Stroudsburg University.

Some of the kids are from low-income families and might not get a chance to see Santa Claus.

"We like to give them gifts, we like to give them snacks, just something for them to enjoy for the holiday season," said ESU student Emily Howell.

The ESU student-athletes helped children with crafts, gave out goodie bags, and made a holiday banner.

Teachers at the Head Start were grateful for the helping hand.

"It's always nice to have extra volunteers and people to work in the classroom and help with the kids and the kids seem to like new people," said teacher Joshua Burak.

As the kids sat on Santa's lap, they told him everything they wanted from the abstract to the seemingly more practical.

After sitting on Santa's lap, the students did a hand print for the holiday banner that the school plans to display for all to see for the holiday season.
