HERSHEY -- A local teacher was recognized as Teacher of the Year Monday for the state of Pennsylvania.
Michael Soskil from Wallenpaupack Area School District won the award at Monday's Department of Education conference in Hershey.
This summer, Soskil was also a finalist for Global Teacher of the Year and traveled to Dubai for the award ceremony.
There were 12 finalists for the Pennsylvania award, including Julie Weaver from the Southern Tioga School District.
