LEHIGHTON -- Lighting the tree for the Christmas season can be magical, but they did it six dozen times in Carbon County.

72 trees in Lehighton Borough Park were lit Sunday night.

The Lehighton 150th Celebration Committee put on the event.

People and businesses adopted the trees for a fee and decorated each one in a way of their choosing.

"When we decided to do this, we were so happy to see that so many people from the town came out, participated, and really celebrated the spirit of the town and the season," said Autumn Abelovsky, Lehighton 150th Celebration Committee.

All the trees were provided by Foothill Farms.

The trees will stay lit until the end of the month.
