EAST STROUDSBURG — The borough of East Stroudsburg has declared a drought warning effective immediately.

Borough council issued the warning because of declining levels in the East Stroudsburg Reservoir.

Restrictions are voluntary, but all customers in East Stroudsburg are being asked reduce non-essential water use, like washing cars, hosing off driveways, and using lawn sprinklers.

Federal help is available for farms and nurseries in Monroe and Wayne counties affected by drought conditions.

The U.S. Small Business Administration said Friday that businesses that suffered financial losses from the drought can apply for low-interest loans to pay debt, payroll and other bills.
