WILKES-BARRE -- Wilkes-Barre police are investigating two separate cases of young children being left unattended.

"I couldn't leave my kids for a minute. Not at all. It's either me or my wife, we don't even have babysitters, it's just me or her,” said Robert Solomon of Wilkes-Barre.

A five-year-old was found wandering alone on Hazle Street early Thanksgiving morning.

Norberto Ogando was arrested, charged with leaving the child alone so he could go to a bar.

"It's not safe. Anywhere you go, it's not safe for a kid to be wandering around,” said Haseam Little in Wilkes-Barre.

On Saturday, four siblings, ages seven, five, and three, were found alone in a home on North Sherman Street with another child, between the ages of six and eight.

Police say they couldn't find the parents or guardians.

"They should get locked up because if you do that, if they're little, they don't know how to eat, they don't know how to get food so they die,” said eight-year-old Shantavia Jones of Wilkes-Barre.

"I can't believe people do stuff like that, not this day and age. It's hard to believe,” said Solomon.
