Man Sentenced to Prison After Toddler Shoots Himself

MONTOURSVILLE -- A man from Lycoming County is headed to prison for leaving out a loaded gun that a toddler used to accidentally shoot himself.

Cody Asher of Montoursville was sentenced Monday to nine to 18 months behind bars followed by three years probation.

In September, he was found guilty of child endangerment.

Last year, his girlfriend's 2-year-old son found Asher's gun on a bed in a home in Montoursville.

The boy shot himself but recovered.
