SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP -- People turned out to help raise money for a charity in Monroe County.

VFW Post 2540 held its fifth annual holiday tricky tray raffle near East Stroudsburg on Sunday.

All the proceeds went to the Ronald McDonald House of Central Pennsylvania to provide a place to stay for families of sick children being treated at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.

"This is dear to our hearts because without these types of houses that they have for families to stay in, a lot of people are gonna struggle because they have to pay for hotels," said Patrick Smith of Stroudsburg.

The family-friendly event had over 150 baskets, a kids craft table, door prizes, and a 50/50 drawing.
