HAZLE TOWNSHIP -- It may be hard to believe, but the holiday season is nearly upon us.
The Laurel Mall near Hazleton is decked out for the holidays. The lights are lit, the garland hung, the goodies on display, ready for the shopping rush.
"I like to come and just mingle with people and shop in the stores so I can actually feel and try things on,” said Sueanne Begg of White Haven.
A new survey by IPSOS Public Affairs finds this holiday shopping season, most shoppers will be shopping online, nine out of 10 to be exact.
Amazon, the largest online retailer in the world, is the number one shopping destination, overtaking Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, and Kohl’s.
"I work a lot, so I actually do a lot of online shopping because it's easier for me, since I work 60 hours a week. I go online, and it's there a few days later,” said Andrea Neely of Freeland.
In Pittston Township, a brand new Amazon warehouse just opened; managers there are looking to hire 350 workers.
State officials say Amazon plans to add 5,000 new full-time jobs to Pennsylvania over the next three years as the company continues to grow and expand.
"I really don't do any online shopping because I'd rather see it in person,” said Amey Wert of White Haven.
The survey also found people are using their mobile devices to shop. That's up 43 percent compared to 2014.
"I see people every day on their phones looking for stuff, in school even, they're shopping still,” said Nathan Begg of White Haven.
Most shoppers Newswatch 16 spoke with say they do a combination of online and in-store shopping for the holidays.
