DUPONT -- One community in Luzerne County has a hundred reasons to celebrate.

Times have certainly changed in the past 100 years and Dupont has been there through it all.

The borough celebrates its centennial in 2017, and the community is getting ready to mark the milestone.

"There is a lot of history here. There's a lot of nice people here, and it's very important to put all of this together for the centennial now and try to get everybody involved and try to plan an event that’s gonna be memorable for another hundred years," said Bob Price, chairman of Dupont Progress Committee.

Dupont's been holding “History Day” events for residents to bring in photos, yearbooks, and other memorabilia to share with the committee.
