SCRANTON -- An organization that provides food to the needy kicked off their season of giving in Scranton on Thursday.

This is the 30th year for "Family to Family."

Volunteers hope to provide everything needed for a traditional Thanksgiving meal to about 15,000 people.

The organization is hoping for more donations to make this year a success

"We can really use your donations. We have a bill of approximately $90,000  and last year we ran out of food and we ordered extra food which shows how big the need is," said Linda Robeson, an organizer for the event.

"Family to Family" is also looking for volunteers to help hand out food baskets on November 23rd at the Scranton Cultural Center.
