Three Dead After Two Early Morning Crashes in Northumberland County

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY -- Three people are dead after two crashes early Saturday morning in Northumberland County.

The wrecks happened just about 10 minutes apart.

According to state police, around 2:15 a.m., a driver lost control of his pickup truck along Route 225 in the area of Sunshine Road in Little Mahanoy Township near Trevorton. The truck hit an embankment and rolled.

The coroner said the driver, Ryan C. Raker, 29, of Rockefeller Township, was thrown from the vehicle and he died.

The second crash happened just before 2:30 a.m. near Milton.

According to state police, Blake Kovilaritch, 21, of Milton lost control of his vehicle along Sodom Road in West Chillisquaque Township and it hit a tree.

Troopers said Kovilaritch and a passenger, Nicholas Gugliemi, 22, of Newton Square, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Both crashes are still under investigation.
