WILKES-BARRE -- From wizards in tall hats to pharmacists in white coats, budding scientists in Wilkes-Barre got a chance to meet all types of experts.

Wilkes University hosted "Passport to Science." The event allowed young students to observe scientific demonstrations and even conduct interactive laboratory experiments.

In one room, kids learned about science with magic performed by a crew that included a dragon. In another room, kids tried on white coats and learned how pharmacists count pills by practicing with candy.

“Young people have a chance to come and do hands-on activities that expose them to many different science fields not just one, but many fields from biology to pharmacy,” said Vicki Mayk, Wilkes University.

Students from grades four to 10 were invited to the day of learning in Wilkes-Barre.
