HONESDALE -- Officials cut the ribbon on a new helipad for a hospital in Wayne County on Sunday.
Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale had the helipad built in order to help the facility become a level four trauma center, meaning it can handle the types of emergency patients usually taken to city hospitals.
The helipad is less than a mile from the hospital and should be up and running soon after approval from the state and some practice runs.
The Life Flight chopper was on hand for kids to get a closer look at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
