SCRANTON -- The Lackawanna County Elections office was buzzing with activity Tuesday, the deadline to register to vote before the November 8 Election.

"It has been very busy and very hectic. There have been a lot of people coming in to register to vote along with a lot of the campaigns dropping off voter registration applications,” said Elections Director Marion Medalis.

Volunteers and staffers for the Clinton/Kaine campaign were busy manning the phones, knocking on doors and at shopping centers registering people to vote.

"It's a real interesting experience. I'm meeting tons of people. I'm doing phone banking and canvassing and doing some volunteer training. It's a very exciting time. Very exciting,” said Clinton campaign volunteer Dottie Gentile.

It was the same story at the Trump camp.

No one from the campaign would speak on camera, but workers at the Lackawanna County campaign office said they were busy, too, with last minute registrations.

"This election some of the campaigns were bringing in voter applications more frequently as opposed to dropping them all off on the last day, however we did receive a lot today," said Medalis.

If you aren't registered to vote yet. You have until midnight on October 11 to register online to be able to vote in this year's election.
