Man Wanted for Attempted Robbery in Wind Gap

WIND GAP — Slate Belt Regional Police Department are looking for a man after officers say he tried to rob a convenience store on South Broadway Street in Wind Gap and stole a truck from a home in Pocono Township.

According to police, Richard Vautrin is wanted for attempted robbery and other charges after he tried to take money from the Square One Convenience Store and fled in a stolen truck around 4 a.m. Wednesday morning. That truck was located Thursday in Chestnut Hill Township.

Police say two clerks were able to fend off Vautrin and were not hurt during the attempted robbery.

No money was taken from the store.
