WILKES-BARRE -- If you like to go out to eat, then the Wilkes-Barre area is the place to be through next weekend. It is Restaurant Week in the downtown, which is a time for restaurants to show off their menus, and their specialty dishes.
Le Manhattan Bistro on South Main Street has a prix fixe menu that includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $35.
“There's different things we do on the menu you won't get anywhere else for sure, the coffee and the escargot, I don't think you can get anywhere else,” said the owner.
If you're hoping for a nice dinner that's less expensive, Frank's Pizzeria has specials on ravioli and prime rib, for Restaurant Week only.
“It brings in a lot of people that have not had the chance to patronize Frank's Pizza and it gives them a chance see what we're about,” said a manager there.
Meanwhile, the Cheesesteak Factory on Market Street is offering $5 chicken cheesesteaks all week.
And then there are places that aren't really restaurants but still have great deals.
At Barnes and Noble Cafe, if you buy one cheesecake, you can get a second half price.
And at the Anthracite Not Just a Newsstand, buy a breakfast sandwich, and you'll get a free brownie.
“I put something in those brownies that man, it's just awesome,” said the owner.
People love the different selections and great prices.
“There's a whole bunch of restaurants with all different ethnicities, you got the Indian and Thai, and you got all these others ones around the square, so it's easy for me to find something to eat, but I've got to pick and choose,” said Mary Ann Beierlie, who plans on going to at least one of those places.
Restaurant Week in Wilkes-Barre runs through next Saturday.
