LACKAWANNA COUNTY — Officials are investigating a case of animal neglect after five puppies were found abandoned off a trail in the woods in Lackawanna County.
Two men spotted the puppies while riding and took them to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter near Clarks Summit.
Shelter officials aren’t sure how long the pups were left in the woods before they were found but say they appear malnourished.
Officials are searching for whoever abandoned the five puppies.
Griffin Pond is working to vaccinate the puppies and say they should be available for adoption within two weeks.
