DURYEA -- Police said a man admitted to setting fire to an old coal breaker in Luzerne County, causing a smoky fire that could be seen for miles.

Police said Zach Sorak told them Wednesday that he set the fire at the former Popple coal breaker off Simpson Street in Duryea Tuesday evening.  He's now in the Luzerne County Jail.

The fire chief says the building off Main Avenue in Duryea was engulfed in flames when crews arrived around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The roof ended up collapsing.
