SCRANTON -- Anthony Capone of Dunmore is charged with harassment and assault after detectives say Capone hurt a 13 year old at the Lackawanna County Juvenile Detention Center in Scranton.

Capone, 64, is a detention officer there.

Detectives say on July 31 around 11 p.m., Capone checked on the teen in his bed.

That's when video surveillance shows Capone putting a chair in the teen's doorway and reading the Bible out loud.

The teen said he asked Capone to stop and turn the lights off, but Capone kept reading.

According to court papers, the teen also said Capone started "…talking about his family and how they didn't love him or care for him which is why he is in juvenile detention" and started "…calling him names."

Capone and the teen began to argue.

The teen admitted to wetting toilet paper and throwing it at Capone.

Detectives say Capone grabbed the 13 year old by the throat and scratched the teen's neck and back in an attempt to restrain him.

According to court papers, the 13 year old is 4'11 and weighs 99 pounds.

Capone is 5'9 and weighs 260 pounds.

Capone is free on bail until his next court hearing.
