UPDATE: One Dead after Lightning Strike at Beltzville State Park

UPDATE: According to the Lehigh County coroner, a 38-year-old man from New Jersey died early Sunday.

He was taken to the hospital after lightning struck the water at the lake at Beltzville State Park.

Three others were injured.

An autopsy is schedule for Monday, August 15 in Lehigh County.

BELTZVILLE STATE PARK -- Several people were hurt by a lightning strike at a state park in Carbon County Saturday evening.

Officials tell us park rangers made an announcement just before 8 p.m. asking swimmers to get out of the lake at Beltzville State Park because storms were moving in.

Soon after, lightning struck the water, injuring four people.

Emergency crews were on scene treating the victims, but there is no word on their conditions.
