LUZERNE COUNTY — 43 years ago a woman’s body was found along the side of the Interstate in Luzerne County.
A judge has ordered the woman’s body to be exhumed and the case reopened.
The woman was found in August of 1973, wrapped in a blanket just off Interstate 80 in Black Creek Township.
Her body was covered with sulfuric acid. The victim was never identified.
Now investigators plan to dig up her remains in the hope that new DNA advances can help crack the cold case.
