WILKES-BARRE -- A summer camp in Wilkes-Barre is aiming to get more young girls involved in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
Girls from 8 to 14 years old are attending the Squirrel Girls Tech Camp at the Think Center in Wilkes-Barre this week. The girls are learning a wide variety of skills such as programming, app development, internet safety, and robotics.
"It's a safe environment, that's why we made it a girls camp only, because girls are just free to be themselves without the intimidation of little boys." said camp volunteer Karla Porter.
WNEP is a proud media partner for the camp in Luzerne County.
