SCRANTON -- Some homeless people in Scranton already down on their luck experienced more trauma this week.

Police say they were held against their will.

Scranton police arrested three people in the early morning hours on Wednesday. They are accused of threatening three homeless people at gunpoint deep in the woods in west Scranton.

Desirae Brown along with her boyfriend Tyler Giamo and his father William, all from Scranton, are charged with kidnapping and conspiracy.

The Giamos face even more charges including terroristic threats and false imprisonment.

Here's what police say happened.

Around midnight, three homeless people were walking to their camp in the woods behind Cathedral Cemetery in west Scranton. They found their tents slashed and medications stolen.

They were approached by two men with guns drawn. One of the victims was able to get away and call the police. The other two were held at gunpoint until police arrived.

William Giamo told police he recently purchased the land at auction and that the three homeless people were trespassing.

Police have not confirmed that, but it wouldn't change the charges they face. Giamo, his son, and Desirae Brown are locked up in Lackawanna County.
