Making sure no child goes hungry during their school break is the focus behind a national campaign called "Summer Feeding Program."  It's now underway in our area including 80 locations in Lackawanna & Luzerne Counties.  Those sites include more than five Wilkes-Barre city parks.

To spice up the weekday program that feeds children up to 18 years old, Registered Dietitian Clancy Harrison is hosting "Tasty Thursdays."  Newswatch 16's Ryan Leckey got a sneak peek of the program this morning.  "Tasty Thursdays" will take place in several Wilkes-Barre city parks every Thursday now through Friday August 19.  The goal of "Tasty Thursdays" is to introduce children to fresh produce grown in our area and give them a chance to have fun with food.  Plus, experience items they may have never tried in the past.   Youngsters also get to take the produce home with them along with a healthy recipe.
