SCRANTON -- Lackawanna College has announced a naming rights deal for its theater inside its main building in Scranton.

It will now be called "Peoples Security Bank Theater at Lackawanna College."

Peoples Security Bank donated $350,000 to the college for a seven-year naming rights deal.

The college president says the school is looking for any way to raise money to keep tuition down for students.

"You know, colleges and universities, especially like ours with a very small endowment, we’re always looking for individuals who are very interested in helping us serve our mission, and that is, in most cases, serving a population that has difficulty funding higher education," said Lackawanna College President Mark Volk.

The president indicated that they may look at other naming rights deals for other facilities in the future.

The theater has been nameless for a few years. It was originally called "The Mellow Theater" but that name was removed following Senator Mellow's corruption case.
