Back To The 80s: Gnarly Gala To Benefit Volunteers In Medicine

A non-profit in Luzerne County is gearing up for a totally tubular event!  It all ties into an eighties themed gala organized by Volunteers in Medicine in Wilkes-Barre.  The goal of the June 17 "'80s bash" is to raise money to help the nonprofit continue its mission of providing free healthcare to low income families across Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Volunteers In Medicine is located along N. Pennsylvania Avenue in Wilkes-Barre.  Its executive director says the organization, which has been around for eight years,  has more than twelve thousand registered patients.  Among the many services provided: preventive checkups, women's care, full dental care, and physical therapy.
