SCR PALOOZA

SCRANTON — A preschool palooza was held Friday at the Mall at Steamtown in Scranton.

NEIU 19, an organization that helps young children with learning disabilities, hosted the event with the help of grant money.

Representatives from more than a dozen agencies and organizations were on hand to help parents find resources to help their children and families.

“We service children [ages ] three through five that have a 25-percent delay in one or more areas of development. That’s what we do, but those children also need things that we don’t provide, so we’re constantly giving them information from the agencies. This is a great one-stop shop for them to see all of the things that they can get,” said NEIU 19 supervisor Colleen Penzone.

Parents could also check out information booths on a variety of topics, including parents’ rights, self-advocacy, and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS).
