HAZLETON -- Two cyber school students who were banned from attending their senior prom will now be allowed to attend.
The superintendent of the Hazleton Area School District announced the decision Wednesday night.
The decision comes following backlash on social media after the district said Austin Sterenchock and his fiancée, who's also a senior in Hazleton Area, could not attend prom because they take their classes through a cyber charter school.
Sterenchock argued the Hazleton Area School District's policy says charter school and cyber charter students should be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities.
Hazleton Area's prom is this Friday.
