LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- It was clear by the thousands of people that came out to see Donald Trump during his stop at Mohegan Sun arena last week that he has plenty of support in northeastern Pennsylvania.

But it appears where Trump is lacking support is in his own party.

Top GOP members are saying they won't back the presumptive republican nominee.

“Now it's settled as far as I'm concerned, he's the front runner and we'll forge ahead and we're going to try and win this election,” said Republican Lackawanna County Commissioner Laureen Cummings.

She says it's clear the voters have spoken and it's time to band together.

“I was a Scott Walker supporter and he dropped out early so I really had no one that I was specifically supporting because I was supporting all of them but now we have somebody that's come out of the primaries the winner,” said Cummings.

Republicans ranging from Senator Lindsay Graham to both Presidents George H.W. and George Bush say they will not attend the GOP convention this summer.

“Donald was a little bit hard on Jeb Bush who was the governor of Florida. And if I was a 92-year-old father and somebody picked on my son, I wouldn't really be beating the bushes at this time,” said Paul Catalano, the former chairman of the Lackawanna County GOP.

Speaking from his own personal politics, he feels at the Republican Convention, Trump detractors will fall in line.

“And I think it's all going to shake out, I really do, they're all going to come together,” said Catalano.

Frank Scavo is both an executive member of the county GOP and the Old Forge GOP Chairman.

His focus heading into the party's convention is convincing skeptical republicans, Trump can win the White House.

“Some of them are really committed to other candidates, but in the end, it's up to us to make the arguments for putting a republican in there and showing people what republicans can do,” said Scavo.
