WYALUSING -- It's a tight squeeze inside the Wyalusing Valley Museum, which is scattered across three buildings right now.

"In terms of functional space, it's a little tricky," said curator Morgan Clinton. "The rooms are a bit tight. Things are now organized based on where they fit and not necessarily how the stories go together."

The museum in Bradford County just acquired the old Masonic lodge in downtown Wyalusing and finalized an agreement for a neighboring building on Main Street as well.

"We are just really looking forward to having a space that we own and that we can plan forward with," Clinton added.

Jessica Rhodes and her husband run the taxidermy inside, that also does haircuts. It's one of the businesses that are leaving to make room for the museum. And for Rhodes, she is excited to move into a new space just down the street.

"It'll be great for the downtown and great for the history buffs of the area that want to learn more about Wyalusing and to have a nice downtown location for the museum," she added.

The museum's transition into the new downtown spaces won't start until the end of 2017, after the tenants still inside find new homes.

Clinton hopes costs for the move into both buildings stays in the ballpark of half a million dollars.
