CARBON COUNTY -- Carbon County’s second annual Restaurant Awareness Week is underway. Sponsored by the Carbon County Chamber and Economic Development Corporation, it’s an effort to boost local businesses.
"We are so thrilled. This week we are promoting Carbon County restaurant awareness week. We want to make sure you're going out to eat,” said Marlyn Kissner of the CCEDC.
More than 20 eateries are part of restaurant week from Lake Harmony, Palmerton, Lehighton, and beyond.
"If we can bring new guests in the door, they can sample a little of everything on our new menu. Restaurant week will definitely help our bottom line and you know we're a family-owned business,” said Karl Knepper of Slopeside Pub and Grill, a sponsor of restaurant week.
"I think it's a terrific idea and you need something to round out the seasons too because obviously ski season is over and you need something to draw people in, keep this going,” said Jim Vandruff of Walnutport.
"I think it's a good idea, you know. Taste different foods, everything like that,” said Lanny Buck of Palmerton.
