HAMILTON TOWNSHIP -- More than two decades after a father was first accused of assaulting his infant son, he appeared in Monroe County court on homicide charges.
Christopher Barber served more than five years in prison for causing permanent brain damage to his two-month-old son in Saylorsburg back in 1991.
His son remained in a vegetative state on life support until May of last year when he died. Authorities charged Barber with homicide last month.
On Monday, he was in court for a preliminary hearing on those new charges.
Barber cried in court as autopsy pictures of his son were shown.
The magistrate in Monroe County found enough evidence to send the case to trial.
