LACKAWAXEN TOWNSHIP -- The grandmother of an attempted homicide suspect in Pike County is now facing charges herself.
Ernesta Patten, 61, of Honesdale has been charged with simple assault and reckless endangerment.
Investigators say she pointed a gun at another vehicle last month in a parking lot near Hawley. She then gave the gun to her grandson, Shawn Vannatta.
Vannatta is charged with attempted homicide. State police said he hit a 16-year-old boy with the gun and then fired several shots into an SUV driven by the victim's father.
