LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- Read Across America is being celebrated all week at schools and libraries in our area.
Newswatch 16's Mindi Ramsey read to Mrs. Hayes second grade class at Clarks Summit Elementary, which happens to be her daughter's class.
And Newswatch 16's Jon Meyer was invited to read to boys and girls at North Pocono Library in Moscow.
March 2 is Dr. Suess's birthday, so he read some Dr. Suess books to the kids. They even let him blow out the candles on a cake after singing happy birthday to the author.
All enjoyed celebrating the importance of reading.
The library has story times for children much of the year.
