DICKSON CITY -- The Star Spangled Banner rang through the Viewmont Mall in Lackawanna County Saturday.
A record number of people auditioned for the chance to sing the national anthem at a Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders game this year.
About 100 people sang for a panel of judges, including Newswatch 16's Sharla McBride.
"I think it's great that they're using the resources in the community to do the job. And there's a great crowd here, so I'm just so excited to be here and good luck to everybody," said Amanda Machegiani Clarks Summit.
Opening day for the RailRiders is April 7 against the Rochester Red Wings.
