CLARKS GREENS -- People could choose from a wide variety of homemade pies for breakfast Saturday morning in Lackawanna County.

The Pie for Breakfast event, held at the Clarks Green Assembly of God near Clarks Summit, benefits students at the Abington Christian Academy.

Sweet and savory pies, including fruit, cream, nut, and even pizza pies, were all up for grabs.

This is the third year for the event.

"Well once they came and tasted all the homemade pies they always come back because they love pie," said Shirley Gilpin of Clarks Summit.

The event was held in conjunction with the Clarks Summit Festival of Ice which runs through Sunday.
