NEWTON TOWNSHIP — Help continues to pour in for a family in Lackawanna County.

The Ransom Lions Club organized the pasta benefit for the Surplus family after fire destroyed their home last month.

Their three dogs were also killed.

The community has been accepting donations for the family since the fire.

A family member tells Newswatch 16 the Surplus family are doing well thanks to all the support they’ve received.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors and the Ransom Lions Club have been organizing much of the support here in Lackawanna County.
