This is the X-Calibur youth wrestling club run by Drexel's all-time wins leader Steve Mytych. Three times a week wrestlers K through 8th grade condition and learn the latest skills needed to compete.
"And to be able to bring a youth program in here X-Calibur wrestling club its great for the area. It's great for our youth kids to develop. It's a feeder program for our high-school team," said Steve.
"We're in our stance. Hit the tape mark, down block and then re-attach." again said Steve.
The room they use is called the great hall. It's located inside the old bank building on Market street and Wyoming avenue in Kingston and it's home to the #1 team in the country Wyoming Seminary where Mytych is an assistant coach.
"I believe there are only three high school programs in the country who actually have a wrestling room separated from their high-school and we are one of those programs," added Steve.
10-year-old Davis Motyka from Kingston took 4th at Tulsa nationals in Oklahoma.
"Why do you come here? To get better. What does coach Mytych teach you? Good moves. Like what? The special, high crotch. Good set ups and lots of other moves," said Davis.
"It's just been a wonderful experience. There's a lot of good competition here. Great coaching and I've just been making myself better and continuing to work hard," said Lincoln Heck.
Coach Mytych and this X-Calibur club team still accepting kids into this program K through 8 and anyone that wants to learn a little bit more about wrestling, and they do travel they will be at the Wildwood duals in the first weekend in February.
"It's awesome when I am showing technique and teaching moves their eyes are wide open and they are really paying attention," added Steve.
